Head of eCommerce and Digital


About the role:

As a lead within the digital team you will be responsible for driving a talented cross-functional team in providing best in class e-Commerce and Digital Marketing to deliver business growth for Dover Street Market. This is an ideal role for an individual with proven experience in online retail to play a pivotal role in the delivery of an ambitious digital growth strategy.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Responsible for managing a cross-functional team and partner network to lead all aspects of the eCommerce business, including: business planning and trade, onsite optimisation, managing workflows, content development, customer service, warehousing, web analytics and web technologies
  • Participate in the development and execution of strategic and tactical business objectives with other members of the senior leadership team supporting the eCommerce strategy
  • Act as a project manager to evaluate, prioritise, develop, manage, implement and test eCommerce initiatives
  • Monitor site performance and propose continuous ways to maximise trade and optimise customer experience.
  • Work effectively with third party partners and agencies
  • Actively identify process improvements across the eCommerce functions
  • Manage the sales and business reports providing detailed analysis on key business metrics including site performance, conversion rates, sales by product


  • Manage effectively a team responsible for the planning and execution of content and campaigns across the 6 global websites
  • Work on developing, implementing and enhancing the global digital marketing strategy
  • Drive revenue and customer acquisition via traditional performance marketing channels
  • Ensure best in class digital campaigns increasing customer engagement online and creating customer centric multi-channel experience for the brand
  • Keeps abreast of industry developments and translates this knowledge into strategic guidance for Dover Street Market


  • Managing, motivating and coaching a team ensuring the team is aligned to overall objectives and is able to motivate team in a highly pressurised environment
  • Able to help team prioritise an often-challenging workload in order to maintain a balance between excellent delivery and team wellbeing
  • Constantly tasked with balancing domestic requirements with global objective


  • Experienced and well round digital leader with a broad understanding of cross functional e-commerce and digital (+ 5 years)
  • Commercially astute professional with a strong understanding of our products and the competitive eCommerce market
  • Willing to work hard, be proactive and work within stringent deadlines in order to drive the business forward
  • Ability to identify required site updates to improve site performance and drive sales
  • Analytical and always focused on delivering strong commercial outcomes
  • Ability to manage a large workload with the ability to deliver under pressure and prioritise
  • Cross channel Digital Marketing experience, SEM and EMAIL in particular
  • Proven ability recruiting, building and nurturing a positive team and work environment
